Residential Landscape Design
Residential Landscape Design
Terrascapes Landscape Design aims to reflect your unique lifestyle and to allow you to balance your busy schedule with outdoor enjoyment. Using functional artistic elements such as water, stone, vegetation and light, we fashion a place for all to enjoy that incorporates sustainable garden philosophies. Below are samples of our design and installation work for residential clients Needham, Wellesley, Dover, Jamaica Plain, Lexington, Dedham and other local communities.
A Backyard Oasis
The original landscape in Lexington was a brush and bramble mess which needed to be replaced by a usable family activity center. We transformed the previously overgrown terrain into casual seating, activity areas, and planned views from the house, all while installing a natural drainage system and stabilizing the slopes with erosion control plants.

Family Friendly Spaces
The importance of having an family friendly outdoor space linked with nature can not be overstated. This large landscape has a number of areas to play for growing children including a place to run, a quiet corner for discovery, a secret garden, a fairy garden, and a butterfly garden, all sanctuaries where one can escape and use imagination. This landscape is also an extension of the home, as an outside room where one can entertain, dine al fresco, read and admire a view.

A Terraced Backyard
In this slope garden, the structural elements of the stone walls, patios and the wooden structure are strongly evident. An overlay by soft, gentle masses of plant materials creates the magical sense of place and discovery. The combination of shapes, textures and colors with hard materials builds the distinct and artful character of this garden.

Small City Gardens
Entrances are important as “first impressions count.” It is often the only outside space that many town-city dwellers have, a small area between street and door, a path usually through a small garden and a front door. These areas can be styled to make a satisfying and enjoyable transition between the street and the home. Whether the journey to your home is traditional or unconventional, you can emphasize it, brighten it, and make it welcoming!
