Project Description
Family Friendly Spaces
The importance of having an family friendly outdoor space linked with nature can not be overstated. This large landscape has a number of areas to play for growing children including a place to run, a quiet corner for discovery, a secret garden, a fairy garden, and a butterfly garden, all sanctuaries where one can escape and use imagination. This landscape is also an extension of the home, as an outside room where one can entertain, dine al fresco, read and admire a view.
Enjoying every minute of light and warmth in Northeastern climates can be challenging for adults, but providing outdoor spaces for the whole family to enjoy is the key to getting everyone outside. There are many ways to make the outdoors inviting by minimizing ugly views, creating secret spaces for discovery, and encouraging privacy for adult/teenage conversation. If the outside works visually from inside your home, you can watch your kids play from the warmth of your kitchen table. This might make the outside tempting even when the sun isn’t shining.
