Vegetable Gardens
The definition of a traditional kitchen garden depicts a seasonally used space defined separately from the rest of the residential garden – the ornamental plants and lawn areas. And, in fact, most suburban vegetable gardens are still miniature versions of grandmother’s farm plot. Terrascapes prefers kitchen gardens that become landscape features; not to be hidden in the corner of the backyard, but a central feature of an ornamental, all-season landscape, sometimes even in the front yard. It should be a structured garden space and a design based on ease of use. Growing food is part of the ecological-friendly movement towards sustainable living, and our design intent is that the kitchen garden be seen, inspiring, and easy to use.
